Michael Bach Addresses World Congress of IASSID

 

CACL Executive Vice-President, Michael Bach, addressed the Opening Plenary of the World Congress of the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual Disability in Halifax, July 9, 2012.

In his talk he spoke of the “precarious, contradictory and opportune” times we live in, and called on the scientific community to make the ‘UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities’ a starting point for research, and to focus not on questions of ‘if’ people with intellectual disabilities can be fully included, but rather ‘how’ to make that happen.  A full copy of the speech can be found here
