Breakfast with MPs

 

Today November 27th, representatives from the Canadian Association for Community Living and People First of Canada will be on Parliament Hill to meet with Members of Parliament and share information about a proposed initiative to advance labour market inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities.

As part of this day on Parliament Hill MP Shelly Glover is convening a Breakfast with MPs in recognition of Community Living and People First. The Breakfast is also being co-hosted by the Honourable Andrew Scheer, Speaker of the House; the Honourable Jim Flaherty, Minister of Finance and MP Phil McColeman.

At the Breakfast we will be launching a booklet with stories about employment from every province and territory, “Ready, Willing and Able,” which you can download here.  There will also be a screening of a short film featuring People First member Scott Klassen and his long tenured employment.

Members of CACL and PFC from through out the country will be meeting with MPs to share our message, that people with intellactual disabilities are "Ready, Willing and Able" to be part of the solution to Canada's labor market and workforce challenges.
